The Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge has been launched for another year.

For 11 years, the Challenge has inspired children to read widely and discover the hidden joys within the pages of a book. In 2013, the Challenge expanded to include young children from birth to five, in recognition of the strong evidence base that shows reading to young children promotes brain development and language learning.

Books can transport us to other worlds, entertain us, expand our horizons and teach us new and exciting things. With nearly 9,000 books on the Challenge booklist, there is something to appeal to everyone. Including the Ranger in Danger series written by Alison Reynolds in conjunction with real life ranger Sean Willmore. All six titles are included on the 5-6 reading list.
